Fishing just got a whole lot more fun in Chobots! A massive new update has arrived, bringing new fishing rods, new fish to catch, and plenty of exciting new features! Let’s dive into all the latest changes and see what’s new with fishing!

New Way To Fish!

The way you fish has received a complete overhaul! No more simply clicking on the Beach and catching fish. Now you’ve got to work for your catch! When you’re at the Beach, keep an eye out for ripples in the water. There will be three at a time, so cast your rod into one of them and let the challenge begin!

Once a fish bites, you’ll need to stop the moving needle in the green zone to successfully hook it. But the challenge doesn’t end there! Once hooked, you’ll need to reel your fish in. Hold down to reel in your fish, but be careful not to hold for too long! If the bar stays in the red highlighted area for too long, your fishing line will snap and your catch will escape!

Additionally, if you meet certain requirements you will get bonuses when fishing. If you fish with a friend in the same room it boosts every ones chances at finding rare fish. If you catch multiple fish in a row without fail you'll also get a higher chance of hooking rarer fish!

You can still use your old rod (the old rod is now unavailable to buy and is considered a rare item now!)

Angler Levels!

Fishing now has its very own levelling system: Angler Levels! Every fish you catch earns you XP towards your Angler Level, with rarer fish rewarding you with even more XP! As your Angler Level increases, you’ll be able to unlock better fishing rods. Additionally, each time you level up, you’ll earn a Skill Point, which we’ll explore in the next section!

Fishing Skills!

As mentioned earlier, every time you increase your Angler Level, you’ll earn a Skill Point that can be used to upgrade your fishing abilities! There are plenty of different skills to spend your points on, from increasing your Fisherman’s Backpack capacity to improving your chances of catching rare fish!

New Rods!

Head over to the Beach and chat with Finn to check out the new fishing rods at Finn’s Tackle! There are three new rods available, each offering better benefits as you upgrade. Upgraded rods increase your chances of catching rare fish, reduce the time it takes for fish to bite, and expand your fish backpack capacity. Some rods even unlock new fish for you to catch!

Bait!

You can now equip your fishing rod with bait! Each type of bait offers its own unique benefits, giving you an extra advantage when fishing! Below are the benefits for each bait.

New Things To Catch!

With the new fishing update comes a variety of new fish to catch! However, you’ll need to upgrade your fishing rod to reel in some of these new additions. Below are the new fish you can catch and the fishing rods required to catch them!

Finn’s Task Of The Day!

Finn now has a new fishing task for you to complete every day! Successfully complete his daily task and you’ll be rewarded with Bugs and XP to help you increase your Angler Level!

Weekend Fishing Derby!

Every Saturday and Sunday, the Fishing Derby begins! Each Derby will feature a specific fish for players to catch, with everyone competing to reel in the biggest one! The top 3 players who catch the largest fish of the selected species will be declared the winners and rewarded with Bugs!

Fishing Log!

Fish now come in a variety of different sizes! Your Fishing Log keeps track of how many of each fish you’ve caught, the largest one you’ve reeled in, and which species you’ve discovered or still need to catch. Manage to catch all 9 species and you’ll earn the title of Master Angler!
